An archive relaunch for a label reissuing its back catalogue, where the challenge was honouring the original work without imitating it.

Retroverse asked for something that felt like their nineteen-nineties catalogue. What they needed was something that felt like it belonged to the same label, which is a different brief.
We took structural cues from the archive — the grid, the crop, the way copy sat under the image — and rebuilt them with current type and current photography. Nothing is a reproduction and everything is traceable to a source.
The relaunch covered campaign, packaging inserts and a product page template built to carry archive material alongside new season stock.

Working through the structure
We took structural cues from the archive — the grid, the crop, the way copy sat under the image — and rebuilt them with current tools.
The relaunch reads as continuity rather than nostalgia, which is what the label needed to sell forward as well as back.
